cut down several small trees and lots of brambles, and remove tree ivy that had engulfed a pair of 18th C tombs
The large and elaborate double tomb enclosure was fully engulfed with brambles which themselves covered a dense layer of invasive ivy, and five very well- established young trees that had all taken root inside the base plinth, all of which was intertwined in the ornate wrought ironwork and took several hours to clear. The result of what was exposed is shown below.
